Students can apply for a direct entry if they have the required GPA – They might have to take the SAT to be elegible to some of the university’s programs.
Suffolk also offers a large variety of Pathway programs. Pathway programs are the perfect option for international students who need further English language and academic preparation before progressing on to a degree program at a US university. During your time as a Suffolk student, you’ll be able to explore the heart of the city due to its prime location. The campus is found right on the edge of Beacon Hill neighborhood,located next to Boston Common, the city’s main park area. Boston is known for it’s fantastic international cuisine and boasts almost 3,000 restaurants.
The city is also home to 5 professional sports teams, 12 theaters, 11 live music venues, 10 museums, 20 coffee shops, parks and many cultural sites, activities and tours. The town is one of the oldest areas in the nation and thanks to its small scale, it’s easy to get around and explore using the well connected public transport.
For undergraduate students, there are 4 accomodation options to choose from. Each residence is equipped exactly the same and all students will receive a twin bed and mattress, a desk and chair, wardrobe and a dresser. All rooms come with either wall-mounted or overhead lighting, carpeting, air-conditioning and wireless internet access. Each building has a resident director and resident assistants to ensure students feel safe and welcomed.
All students living on campus are required to be on the university meal plan. There are five dining facilities dotted around the university and all meals can be purchased using the ‘Ram card’. Some restaurants and cafés are open all day, while others are only open at certain meal times.
Prospective undergraduate applicants must complete an application form, provide official school transcripts translated from their native language to English, letters of recommendation, a personal statement covering why they want to study at Suffolk University, and verified IELTS scores to a standard of 6.5 or higher. For a direct entry, SATs may be required.
Through the unique partnership between Suffolk University, INTO, and Study Experience, applicants holding a bachelor’s degree and seeking admission to a master’s program are granted admission to Suffolk’s University Pathway program without completion of the GMAT or the fourth year of a bachelor’s degree. The Pathway program consists of refresher courses in mixed languages and core curriculum subjects relevant to your degree field. Applicants are typically enrolled in the Spring semester (January, March) or during the Autumn semester beginning in September.
