Finance studies in England

Situated on the English East Coast, in the ancient Roman capital of the UK (Colchester) the University of Essex offers a large number of programs to students from around the world. In 2018, the Times places Essex as the 22nd best university in the world. The establishment is renowned for providing its students with extremely personalised monitoring in order to help in both their academic and professional orientations. For this reason, 97.8% of international students at Essex find a job or further study within 6 months after graduation.

Degree programmes at the University of Essex

The University of Essex has over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, being particularly renowned for Politics, Sociology, Finance and Languages UoE is highly ranked in a number of specialist subjects, including Top 5 for Social Sciences (REF 2014) and Top 50 in the world for Politics and Sociology (QS, 2017).

The majority of UoE’s Undergraduate degrees offer a study abroad or placement year. This allows students to experience another culture or country whilst studying their chosen subject. A placement year can be a year of industry, giving you great work experience for your future career. Yearly tuition fees at the University of Essex are currently £9,250 (approximately 10,650€).

Studying in Colchester

Colchester is 45 minutes away from central London and a one-hour bus journey from Stanstead Airport. More than 135 nationalities are represented on the campus of the university, which has 12,000 students (44% are international). UoE guarantees on-campus accommodation for first year students and buses connect the city centre to campus every 10 minutes. The university offers facilities and services to meet the needs and cultures of all students. The main student association organises numerous events throughout the year and students can become members of over 130 clubs (theatre, sports, culture, music, etc.). Compared to life in London, rent and restaurants are 55% and 15% cheaper respectively and degree programs cost 10% less.

The University of Essex has a second campus in Southend, on the English East Coast. This campus is smaller, with a real family spirit and special attention is given to each student. The city of Southend is lively and you will easily settle into the new halls of residence, completed in 2014. The Loughton campus offers acting courses, set in a beautiful Georgian mansion, allowing students to fully experience the benefits of a specialist acting school, whilst being part of an engaging and fun University.

Apply to the University of Essex

Applications and admissions to the University of Essex are made through UCAS.Study Experience is specialised in supporting and helping international students throughout the UCAS application process.

The deadline for submitting applications is usually on January 15th each year for entry in September. Complete applications must include; a CV, a translated Baccalaureate transcript, IELTS results, and a personal statement. The Study Experience team assists students in the writing of their personal statement and directs them towards the most relevant IELTS preparation program according to their level and needs. Regarding English entry requirements for the University of Essex, students must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 for undergraduate programs and 6.5 for postgraduate programs.

Graduate studies in Britain are not reserved for Londoners, far from it!
