Based on the English East Coast, in the ancient Roman capital of the UK in Colchester, Southend and Loughton, the University of Essex offers a large number of programs to students from around the world. The average cost of a year of study currently is about £9,250 pounds sterling, approximately €10,645.  According to the Times (THE, 2014), Essex is the 22nd best university in the world, under 50 years old. Finally, the establishment is renowned to provide its students with extremely personalized follow-up, to help them in their academic and professional orientations. Besides, 97.8% of international students at Essex find a job or further study within 6 months after graduation.


Programmes at University of Essex

The University of Essex has over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  The University is highly ranked in a number of specialist subjects including Top 5 for Social Sciences (REF 2014) and Top 50 in the world for Politics and Sociology (QS, 2017).
With the majority of the University of Essex’s Undergraduate degrees, you can take a study abroad or a placement year. This will allow you to experience another culture or country whilst studying your chosen subject. A placement year can be a year of industry, giving you great work experience for your future career.
Admission is relatively selective, so plan a Baccalauréat to enter a bachelor’s degree and a good record to integrate a Master’s degree.

Studying in Essex

Colchester is less than an hour from central London with six airports within 2 hours of the University. More than 135 nationalities are represented on the campus of the university, which has 12,000 students (44% are international). They even guarantee accommodation on campus for their first year of studies (Bac + 1 level), and buses connect the city centre to the campus every 10 minutes. The university offers facilities and services to meet the needs and cultures of all students. The main student association organizes numerous events throughout the year and students can become members of over 200 clubs (theatre, sports, culture, music, etc.). Life is, moreover much cheaper, compared to those in London.

The University of Essex has a second campus in Southend, on the English East Coast. This campus is smaller, with a real family spirit and special attention given to each student. The city of Southend is alive and you will be comfortably settled in the new residence, which was completed in 2014. The Loughton campus holds pure acting courses, set in a beautiful Georgian mansion. This allows students to fully experience the benefits of a specialist acting school, whilst being part of an engaging and fun University.

Join University of Essex

University of Essex follows the UCAS procedure, for which Study Experience accompanies all students. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 January if you wish to join the institution in the following September semester. You must have at least a fairly good grade (12/20 of average) at the baccalaureate. Note that before the deadline, you will have passed the IELTS exam with a minimum average of 6.0-7.0 for some courses, out of 9. Also, give yourself enough time to prepare for this test and get a decent score. In the same way, Study Experience will accompany you in the drafting of your letter of motivation, but you will have to do it early enough to rework it before you leave it via the electronic registration platform. Finally,
