Queen Mary is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in the UK (it was ranked 15th nationwide by Times Higher Education Best universities in the UK in 2017).
In total, the school offers more than 240 courses across 21 department and three faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering and Medicine and Dentistry.
The university is particularly renowned for its courses in Media & Film Studies, Medicine, Dentistry, History and Law.
QMUL is also one of the 24 universities that make up the prestigious Russell Group, which recognizes research excellence in the UK. Over the years, QMUL has produced 7 Nobel Prize winners, 3 Athena Swan Silver awards and 7 Bronze awards. It was ranked 9th in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework in 2014. Notable alumni include Elizabeth Blackwell, the first fully qualified female doctor in the UK and Bruce Dickinson, lead singer with the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Tuition at Queen Mary costs 9,250 pounds a year but international students are eligible for over a hundred scholarships each year.
QMUL’s main campus in Mile End is conveniently located 15 minutes by tube from the Oxford Street, Covent Garden and the rest of the capital. It features several cafes, restaurants, bars and shops, a laundrette, a gym and a bank — all on site!
With over 250 student societies and more than 60 sports clubs, Queen Mary boasts one of the most active Students’ Unions in London. The union organises over 300 events each year, including everything from graffiti workshops to a floating cinema.

Applications to Queen Mary are made via UCAS, a centralised system used by all British universities. Study experience are specialists in accompanying and advising students during the UCAS application process, and our team will gladly assist you in your journey.
The deadline for applications is the 15th of January for those aiming for a September start. Applications must include a CV , an officially translated transcript, your IELTS test results, and a personal statement. The Study Experience team accompanies many students in the writing of their personal statement and advise them on the best IELTS preparation programmes. The minimum score required is 5.5 in all categories.
