Founded in 1834 as the School of Medicine and Surgery, Newcastle University (NU) is a fantastic higher education institution. Since becoming a university in 1963, NU has continued to grow and evolve, transforming into the prominent institution that it is today and a member of the prestigious Russell Group.

Applying to Newcastle University

Applications and admissions to Newcastle University are made through UCAS. Study Experience is specialised in supporting and helping international students throughout the UCAS application process.

Deadline for applications is usually on January 15th of each year for entry in September. Complete applications must include: a CV, a translated Baccalaureate transcript, IELTS results, and a personal statement. The Study Experience team assists students in the writing of their personal statement and directs them towards the most relevant IELTS preparation program according to their level and needs. Newcastle University is quite selective in its admissions process, it is therefore highly recommended to apply with at least a 14/20 average in the baccalaureate and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or even 7.0-7.5 depending on the programme chosen.
