Falmouth University is a unique and diverse institution, from its beautiful coastal setting in Cornwall to its course choices that bring out the creativity in its students; whether it’s art, media, design or business, the freedom students feel here is second to none. Based across two campuses, the Falmouth Campus is located in a valley garden and provides the perfect creative environment, while the Penryn Campus, shared with the University of Exeter, is home to the arts and sciences departments in modern, professional facilities.

Studying at Falmouth University

There are a large variety of courses to study at Foundation, Bachelor or Postgraduate level, and most are single honours (with some option to combine with other subjects in the first year). These courses range from 2 year accelerated business degrees to 3-year full time degrees.

Tuition fees for the academic year 2018-19 for full-time EU undergraduate students, for their studies from September 2018 and onwards is £9,250.

Creative courses at Falmouth University 

With 10 unique departments at Falmouth University, whether you’re an artist, an actor, a game designer or an entrepreneur, there’s something for every creative student here.

Usually associated with art and media, Falmouth University is ranked 15th in the UK for its unique take on business studies, where you don’t just learn the theory behind business, you also immediately apply it to your own company. This creative thinking helps you differentiate from the competition in the real world.

The reputable School of Art has been teaching its students for over a century. Mainly located in the Falmouth Campus in a subtropical garden, the studios and workshops provide an excellent study environment for thinking, making and experimenting. With an emphasis on networking the Art courses here give you the opportunity to share your art internationally in places such as New York and London.

The School of Film and Television is one of the best in the UK. Along with the world-class facilities, high student satisfaction and employability rates, students have also won awards for the work they do here. As one of the first national centres of excellence to be accredited by ‘Creative Skillset’, and members of CILECT (the Global Association of the worlds best film, television and animation schools), the school has very strong international networks. These courses will challenge students to fuse creative thinking with the latest technology.

The Falmouth campus

Located in Cornwall in the South West of England, there is plenty to do around University, from visiting the area’s beautiful beaches and many areas of natural beauty, to attending the numerous art exhibitions, live music and comedy and festivals that take place.

The Penryn campus features a learning hub and library, IT suites, lecture theatres, dining room, study spaces, bar and sports centre. The Falmouth campus features a library, dining room, seminar rooms, workshops, studios, lecture theatres, IT suites, design centre, art shop and gardens.

Falmouth University offer 9 different locations for student accommodation. This includes off campus accommodation in Falmouth town, ideal if you wish to be immersed with the locals, near the beaches, and which can be a short walking distance from the campuses or provide good transport links. If not, you might want to be on campus if you prefer the student lifestyle and to have easy access to all the university facilities. 

Applying to Falmouth University

Undergraduate applications and admissions to Falmouth are made through UCAS. Study Experience is a specialist in supporting and helping international students through the UCAS application process.

Complete applications must include: a CV, a translated Baccalaureate transcript, IELTS results, and a personal statement. The Study Experience team assists students in the writing of their personal statement and directs them towards the most relevant IELTS preparation program according to their level and needs. In terms of English language requirements, you achieve a minimum of 6.0 for all undergraduate programs and 6.5 for postgraduate programs.
