Founded in 1962 by the Church of England, Canterbury Church University obtained its official public university status in 2005. Its main campus is located in the heart of Canterbury, a world heritage site whose cathedral attracts visitor from all over whole world.

The university has 16,000 students in total, of which 6% are internationals from 80 different countries. The school has one of the best libraries in the country, spread out over four floors, it offers numerous study rooms, over 200 computer stations and as many laptops that can be borrowed for use on-site.

Arts and culture are at the forefront of this university with a music complex, three art galleries, a 450-seat auditorium, as well as a theatre, music, and dance studios… Sports enthusiasts are well-served as the university has a sports complex, a gym, and many sports fields.

International students also have the option of living with a host family, which varies from £112 to £181 per week depending on the type of room and number of meals included.

Apply to Canterbury Christ Church University

The deadline to apply is the 15th of January for students wishing to start in September. Complete applications must include; a CV, a professionally translated transcript, your IELTS test results, and a personal statement. Regarding English entry requirements, Canterbury Christ Church requires a minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS exam. For students who are not yet at that level, the university also offers foundation years, and summer programmes.

To apply for a bachelor’s degree, students must hold a baccalaureate with an average of at least 12/20 average, although a higher mark can be required for certain courses. Tuition fees at Canterbury Christ University cost £9,250 per year, and scholarships are available for international students.
